Confirmation
Good Shepherd offers confirmation instruction for 6th and 7th graders every Sunday evening at 6 pm. Instruction is based on the Small Catechism of Dr. Martin Luther. Following successful completion of the classes, the youth are invited to become adult, confirmed members of the Lutheran Church. Members of this class also serve as acolytes for worship services. Following each Sunday evening class, the 6th and 7th graders attend choir practice and regularly sing in worship and also participate at Christmas by singing their Cantata based on Luke 2.
Catechism
Both the Junior and Adult Confirmation classes use as a guide Luther’s Small Catechism (one of historic Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and part of the Book of Concord).
Luther's Small Catechism can be found here as provided by the LCMS.
Alcolyte
Junior High youth who are enrolled in the Confirmation class serve as acolytes for Sunday and Wednesday Divine Worship.
